Location

Minot State University is located in north central North Dakota, in the heart of Minot. The modernized campus, featuring state of the art technology in and out of the classroom, has 21 buildings conveniently situated within a two-by-six-block area.

You belong in the Magic City. With a population of 47,789, Minot is the fourth largest city in North Dakota. With attractions such as the zoo and state fair, a vibrant arts and cultural community, diverse dining and shopping, multiple parks, and outdoor activities for every season, you will always have something to do and explore on or off campus.

Minot State is organized into several colleges and departments including the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education and Health Sciences, the Teacher Education Unit, Graduate School and the Center for Extended Learning. Minot State also offers general studies, the Honors Program, study abroad, and several pre-professional and certificate programs.

Earn your degree your way. At Minot State, students can earn their degree with flexible class options, including on-campus, online, and hybrid. Degree programs and courses are also offered at Minot Air Force Base, Bismarck State College, and North Dakota State University. Minot State also uses HyFlex instruction that allows students and faculty to fully interact in person or remotely. Clubs and Organizations

Our vibrant student MSU Life gives students numerous options to participate, lead, and be successful when they participate in one or more of our 60+ student organizations. The clubs and organizations represent drama, intramural sports, music, academic groups, student government, and more. MSU Life provides a fun and engaging social atmosphere and regularly sponsors events such as dances, movies, hypnotists, Pinterest nights, comedians, concerts, and food all free of charge for students.

Athletics

Minot State is an important member of NCAA Division II and plays in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Athletic Department sponsors men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, track & field, and golf. Other teams fielded by men include football, wrestling, and baseball. Women also compete in volleyball, fast-pitch softball, and soccer. Minot State also has men’s and women’s club hockey teams.
