The North Dakota Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) is a series of secured data warehouses comprised of public education and workforce training data. The objective of the SLDS is to provide data on the preparation and outcomes for education and workforce training programs. SLDS information provided to policy makers, agencies, workforce development, schools, and school organizations help make informed decisions. The SLDS is managed and maintained by the North Dakota Information Technology Department (ITD).

Other Services Provided by the SLDS:

The North Dakota Education Portal provides state, district, school, and student level dashboards to public school teachers and administrators. Dashboard metrics include analytics on predicted student outcomes, high school and college readiness, and historical student data.

A feature of the North Dakota Education Portal is that it provides direct services to the students and parents. These services include:

  • Electronic access to high school transcripts along with the ability to send transcripts for free to all ND institutions as well as any out of state colleges participating through the National Student Clearing House;
  • The ability to monitor student progress toward meeting North Dakota Academic or CTE scholarship eligibility;
  • An integrated scholarship application portal where students can apply for state scholarships;
  • In the next few months, a pilot to access online college application form for high school students enrolling in dual credit courses with a North Dakota college

Finally, the ND Education Portal is also an interactive tool for school educators, giving them access to data to predict student outcomes, analyze high school choice ready indicators and decipher historical trends.

North Dakota eTranscripts is a free high school transcript exchange system built through the Statewide Longitudinal Data System, allowing for high schools to exchange electronic records within the state as well as to out-of-state colleges. Since the inception of eTranscripts, over 17,000 high school transcripts have been sent, proving the state eTranscripts system saves significant time and cost, which increases efficiencies for both high school and college offices.
